All your stuff is "talky"

That's your style of humor, a strong mix of obscenity and subtlety. It's unique, embrace it, see how far you can take it. I found the course of the dialog highly amusing, and the way you illustrated the characters, both visually and through their behavior, was also fantastic.

My beef was the fact that you changed the ending. I honestly think it knocked your piece down a rather big notch. I really liked having the end leave the rest up to your imagination. Having Draconius standing there looking around contrasted so well with the beginning of Gigantor doing the same. Draconius being indecisive also fit the boring character trait you gave him. The original ending really brought a full-circle feeling to the flash and I don't think it could have ended better. Shame.

when you're right, you're right.

still, i figured it might get a laugh.

Woo

Great over-dramatization. The beginning was kinda dumb, but it didn't really take away from the overall skit. Great sound work, I enjoyed the slurred speech quite a bit.

Sh0T-D0wN responds:

Gotta take it in slow, too fast will make it seem... Jumbled.

DANG

It was a really good idea, just wasn't taken far enough. I was really excited when I went to see this, but the usage of the pixel tool almost gave off the impression that you wanted to slack on the drawing. Regardless if that's true, observe how common video game sprites work. When they animate, the characters keep within a grid. When a character breathes, the sprites change altogether. The tweens themselves were awkward and slow, and just didn't fit the energy of the music. Again, I say, really good idea you had going, and it might've been the deadline killing it, but it seriously had a lot of potential. Maybe next one.

M4KBOT responds:

Well, I would have liked to make proper Madness sprites which work like classic sprite, but that would take forever.

Dang

This series is great. The style is fresh and the storyline is told really well. Fantastic work.

RedMongoose responds:

y thenk you

Eh...

Strange concept to put for a collab theme, and I'm all for strange and unique concepts to stuff, but this was a disappointment. The jokes, if any, were bland. The animation quality was equally bland, though the menu intro was rather nice. A few of you made some decent animation, but not enough. Regardless, this was a dull flash. There wasn't much that was actually creative, just the same, re-hashed, dull ideas that are dished out in the corny kid shows you see on tv. Boring, it's practice animation at best. Better luck next time.

Kudos for the two songs and their good bass riffs.

TheBoogley responds:

I'll try to make something with sonic in it for you next time.

Woah dang, that was weird

Not bad, I like the weird twist to an already weird thing.

Comick responds:

Ha ha thanks man. I'll take weird as a compliment ;)

Made me smile

It wasn't amazing in any way, honestly. The very short story to it didn't make a whole lot of sense, doing acrobatics, possibly something a little more clever would have helped the joke along, but that ending line made me smile. It wasn't bad.

DonkeysBazooka responds:

k. well thanks anyway

Not too bad, but...

I was a little disappointed with this. Yes, Doom is an awesome game, but it kept changing themes. It started out with a cool fight scene theme, then it changed into a serious and tense theme, but then the humor in it was kinda... awkward. A couple things need to be looked at, but stick with me. When going farther back (the fight scene when he dodged the rockets), a character can't just go upwards, you have to shrink him down too. It shows perspective and without that it looks like he's getting bigger whenever he goes even a step or two back. Next, pace. In the game, when you fight a monster, it's extremely fast and difficult at times. The fight scene here had a slower pace, and I felt that it took away from the movie. Finally, my last complaint was the mood. Make it transition better. It'll help.

Enough of my complaints. I said this wasn't bad, so here are the strong points. You handle the sprites pretty darn well. Editting them and everything. The graphics were at their best when defeating the Cyber Demon. I also like the voice over of the ending text to Eps. 2 throughout the movie. That was a nice surprise. You did add in humor, which DOES give entertainment towards more of the categories of viewers, so I can't say take it out. That'd be dumb.

Whether you take even some of my advice or not, good luck on your next movie. ^^

LilDwarf responds:

Thanks for your thorough(sp?) comment. I'll take your advice in consideration when I make my next movie ;)I have to admit that I'm not real good at handeling themes and I just do what I think of before I forget it :P

This is awesome work.

I've been a fan of your stuff since... I don't know... but it was still a long time... maybe. This definitely proves that you don't need flash to make a good movie, I've seen fewer effects done by some of the best with flash, so this is definitely something to be proud of. The guides to good movies were also very helpful, and funny. Love the sense of humor. I wish I had put you in my favorites earlier.

Finally, I'd like to say how much your patience shows in this. I've learned most of what I need to make good flash, the only thing I'm missing is patience. Though I can get detailed like you have, I can't keep working like that, but your work was inspiring. Awesome movie once again. ^^

Short-Factor responds:

Hey! Thanks! That's exactly the kind of reviews I like to hear! You do good to, ok?

I severely underestimated this movie.

The beginning graphics set that at first (a lot of bad artists will just do stuff with no backgrounds or creative sprite use), but then you used awesome music and had clear, crisp, and enjoyable fight scenes. I want to see the sequal! Make a sequal! I loved the outakes. Funny stuff. Funny stuff. ^^ Good job and good luck with the next.

Vixin-McCloud responds:

A sequel you want? A sequel you shall get! (as soon as I finish it)

They take me away from the strangest places. Hey man.
